Prospects of Troy is a baseball training program exclusively available to players who will potentially be attending Oak Ridge High School. The program focuses on the individual development of each player, both as a baseball player and a young man. Training is conducted by a collection of professional instructors, as well as former Oak Ridge coaches and players. The ultimate goal is to prepare the players both physically and mentally for all aspects of being a baseball player and student athlete at Oak Ridge, while at the same time helping to build a comradery amongst the players that can hopefully carryover and create success for the program during their tenure.
The program will look to form at least one team made up of 12-14 players at each age group based on graduation year. For example, those currently going into 8th grade are 2030, to 7th are 2031, and so on. The team will play in leagues and tournaments based on the team's ability and skill level and what gives them the best chance to develop.
Because the program aims to help develop and prepare both Oak Ridge baseball and the community of EDH, players have the option to participate just in the training part of the program, without a full-time team commitment. Even if you play regularly on another team, as long as you are potentially going to Oak Ridge, you can participate in the program and benefit from the training.
We do this with the intent of creating a chemistry and comradery amongst all local baseball players at various ages, bringing them together as one community, or FAMILY, as we always say when we break!
